A nightmare is about to break free…
Herbert grew up in the Metropol. The eerie old cinema was his playground and prison – a place where endless late-night horror films were his only window to the world.

"Anyone who loves a good horror should definitely check this one out! In an abandoned old cinema a young man (brilliant performance from Alex Moran) recounts his rather upsetting childhood living with unstable parents who ran a horror themed cinema.
The set is fantastic, has lots of possibilities for something to jump out. The addition of the visuals on a screen is genius and provides plenty of atmosphere. There's an excellent use of visuals within the play with the lighting design used to great effect. The story itself unfortunately was a bit too grim for my liking - mental health and physical abuse of a child dominates a lot of this and it almost feels like wallowing in the domestic disturbance for longer than needed.
A little more tongue-in-cheek humour occurs in the second half as a mischievous puppet (literally) turns heads and the jump scares start to increase. All the horror movie references are a lot of fun for movie buffs. Catch it this weekend, perfect viewing as we creep towards Halloween season!"
