Olivier and quadruple Fringe First award winning Fishamble are back with Heaven by Eugene O’Brien.

Heaven is set in the Irish midlands, during the weekend of a local wedding. Mairead and Mal are struggling to keep their marriage together. Perhaps attending a wedding will help, or it might raise questions that are difficult to answer.

This poignant, funny, beautiful play is full of humanity. HEAVEN is directed by Jim Culleton (Irish Times Best Director Award winner). It was a hit at Dublin Theatre Festival 2022, TravFest23 and Off-Broadway in 2023.

Stewart - ★★★★

"A beautifully layered insight into an unusual marriage runs through this funny, heartfelt and engrossing play. Janet Moran and Andrew Bennett are wonderful as they perform a series of monologues that delve into a weekend away to a wedding in which their married couple, Mairead and Mal, both go off on unusual paths that make them rediscover and place into perspective their relationship with each other whilst unearthing wants and needs they have perhaps been setting aside.

It's occasionally hilarious - there's spiky humour here, often sweet and the finale has a melancholy edge that hints at heartbreak that lies ahead for these characters we've grown to love over the 90 minutes. It's not a showy performance, the staging is simply set and director Jim Culleton allows his actors and the wonderful script by Eugene O'Brien the space to breathe in the space. A wonderful play."
