Theatre REVIEW: Hairspray - ★★★★★

Prepare to be swept back to 1960s Baltimore with this Broadway smash hit.

It’s Baltimore, 1962 where Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, is on a mission to follow her dreams and dance her way onto national TV. Tracy’s audition makes her a local star and soon she is using her new-found fame to fight for equality, bagging local heartthrob Link Larkin along the way!

Featuring the hit songs Welcome To The 60s, You Can’t Stop The Beat, The Nicest Kids in Town and many more.

"Hairspray was an amazing musical!

The acting was great, all the songs are really catchy and the dance routines so fun to watch. I was especially impressed with Katie Brace who played the main character Tracy. This is her first professional job and she was absolutely brilliant. Alex Bourne who played Edna made me laugh several times and he worked with Norman Pace who played Wilbur really well. They were hilarious together.

Overall a fantastic, fun and uplifting show."
