Gallery REVIEW: RELICS: A New World Rises - ★★★★★

It’s 2530, humans have left the planet and a new world has risen in their place! LEGO® Minifigures have taken over the planet and built intricate civilisations in the artefacts left behind, each one inspired by the object they now call home.

Experience LEGO® like never before in this immersive new exhibition created by Australian LEGO® Masters Jackson Harvey and Alex Towler. Amongst the ‘relics’ you’ll see a grandfather clock that’s been turned into a time machine, a cryonics facility nestled inside a vintage refrigerator keeping minifigures on ice, and a retro arcade with airlocks and elevators that connect a series of gaming machines to form a futuristic spaceport… and much more!

Where?

Auckland Museum, New Zealand - Until 13th October

MIX UP REVIEWS:

Archie (Age 12) - ★★★★★

"This is a brilliant exhibition. Some lego artists have created a spectacular , alternative world. It’s 2530, humans have left the planet, lego figures have taken over and created new worlds. The builds were really imaginative and made inside real objects like an old VW beetle, Jukebox, jet ski. The exhibition is enormous and creative - each build tells a complex story.

The whole exhibition has a retro feel with old fashioned music playing. We haven’t seen builds like this before and also got the chance to do some of our own building at the end. There is a strong climate change theme and one of the builds used the soy sauce fish from sushi. The lego was a work of art and the detail was exquisite. The mini worlds looked amazing. My favourite one was the time punks tower which is a grandfather clock with lots of time decades in lego inside. The creativity of the exhibition is mindblowing"
