Supervillains Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker, and a collection of nutty cons at Belle Reve prison join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X as they are dropped off at the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese.

The film received positive reviews from critics, who praised the performances, action sequences, Gunn's writing, direction, and visual style, with many deeming it a significant improvement over its predecessor.

"Maybe the first really great film in the DC extended universe. Very tongue-in-cheek funny, great characters and casting (Margot Robbie is fantastic). It's extremely violent and super rude - so not for young kids but this is a very welcome adaptation from James Gunn who brings along that Guardians of the Galaxy spirit."

For more excellent superhero movies check out Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (inluding Spider-Pig!) and of course the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are worth a look especially from director James Gunn himself - Guardians of the Galaxy and Vol. 2. For less superheroes but equally ragtag bunch thrown together then Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is a lot of fun. For more Harley Quinn appearances look for her in The Lego Batman Movie and of course the original Suicide Squad. And there's some mutant heroes also in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
