Shrek and Fiona travel to the Kingdom of Far Far Away, where Fiona's parents are King and Queen, to celebrate their marriage. When they arrive, they find they are not as welcome as they thought they would be.
It is the sequel to Shrek (2001) and the second installment in the Shrek film series.
The film was met with highly favorable reviews like its predecessor.
A sequel, Shrek the Third, was released in May 2007. The film's character Puss in Boots has also received his own series of spin-off media—Puss in Boots (2011), The Adventures of Puss in Boots (2015–2018) and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)—following his debut.

There's plenty more in the Shrek series including the recent excellent Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. The team behind Shrek were also involved in The Chronicles of Narnia, Pirates of the Caribbean and Madagascar. There's another unique princess in Frozen as well.
