[SPOILERS]

'I liked when the beetle was like a see saw, stuck on his back and when he found out he had wings and flew, I dont like the bad ones though the witches all black. It was a little bit sad when his mum died. I give it 5 stars but when its sad bits i give it zero.'

Stewart - ★★★★★

'A very mature family film that deals with some very serious themes. The animation is phenomenal, story and vocal performances all great. A very unique adventure film. Highly recommended!'

For another young person on a magical quest with mystical powers, you really can't beat the brilliant TV series Avatar: The Last Airbender. The filmmakers behind Kubo also made Coraline and ParaNorman and have similar brilliant stop-motion animation.

There's some excellent Japanese animation with the likes of Princess Mononoke and Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro that have similar samurai style storylines.

Beowulf is an animated take on the classic story whilst Pokemon: The First Movie is a lighter animated tale.
