After a sudden attack on MI5, Johnny English, Britain's most confident, yet unintelligent spy, becomes Britain's only spy.

It is the first installment of the Johnny English film series and serves as a parody and homage to the spy genre, mainly the James Bond film series, as well as Atkinson's Mr. Bean character. The character is also related to Atkinson's bumbling spy character from a series of adverts in the United Kingdom for Barclaycard in the 1990s.

It was followed by two sequels, Johnny English Reborn (2011) and Johnny English Strikes Again (2018).

"Hilarious. I enjoyed it a lot. I loved it even the bit when he climbed up into a toilet stuffed with poo."

There's plenty of action comedy to be found in some of the best superhero movies out there including Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Thor: Ragnarok and Ant-Man. Men in Black is another secret agent comedy but with a sci-fi twist. Check out some of the James Bond movies to see where Johnny English takes the parody of. Mr. Bean is probably Rowan Atkinson's most famous character and don't misst the Johnny English sequels - Reborn and Strikes Again.
