MIX UP REVIEWS:

★★★★

Daniel (Age 11) - ★★★★

"I liked this film, it was funny, gripping and emotional. It was really well made and, although it was different from what I would normally watch, I still really enjoyed it.

I think the film showed us that telling entertaining stories can make hard times in life easier and it also made me think about the importance of spending time with family. I liked how the son didn't really understand his Dad for most of the movie, but by the end he learned to accept him for who he was."

Tim Burton creates another fine surreal fantasy romance film in Edward Scissorhands again working with composer Danny Elfman. They both are rejoined with star Helena Bonham Carter for their take on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

For another strange small-town tale check out the fantasy comedy series Gravity Falls.

There's more unique storytelling on offer in Life of Pi and Isle of Dogs. Hugo has another father-son relationship at it's heart of the journey.

Talking of epic journey fantasy movies nothing quite beats The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Burton had also previously worked with Danny DeVito on the fantasy film, Batman Returns.
