"Hello, my name is Lucia and on Wednesday the 26th of February I went to see a dazzling dance show called Speakeasy in the Perth Concert Hall. The show featured Karen Haur and Gorka Marquez, two famous Strictly Come Dancing dancers. Speakeasy also showcased incredible singers and musicians who played instruments including drums, guitars and saxophones. The songs were also phenomenal. Songs such as, Dance Monkey, Don’t Speak, Smooth Criminal, Grace Kelly, Time of my life, Hit the Road Jack and What was I made for? Some of these were classics and others were more modern. All were so mellow; it felt like a blanket of warmth covered the audience. Now for one of my favourite aspects of the show…. the costumes. All the costumes were spectacular! There were glitzy dresses, fur coats with gemstones, top hats, suits, feathers and long gloves. Some were old fashioned but very stylish. Finally, the dances themselves. I noticed that there was a theme of ballroom dancing, with dances being done in pairs featuring daring lifts and flips. I also noticed they were very tight in rhythm- it looked unreal! Another observation was that the dancers were always at different heights; some stood on tables, and some knelt on the floor. This added to the excitement and variety of the show. I would give this show 10/10…. I loved it. It was very entertaining and very glitzy!"
