Dance REVIEW: Birmingham Royal Ballet: Swan Lake - ★★★★★

Birmingham Royal Ballet’s treasured production of the world’s best-loved ballet.

Birmingham Royal Ballet revives the production by former Artistic Director of the Company Peter Wright and renowned ballerina, Galina Samsova leading you into the glorious journey of Swan Lake. Filled with exquisite ensembles, lyrical pas de deux and bravura solos, this atmospheric, romantic and lavish production of Swan Lake is an unforgettable experience.

Our principal dancers playing the role of Odette/Odile are Céline Gittens, Momoko Hirata and Miki Mizutani. Joining them as Prince Siegfried are Brandon Lawrence, Mathias Dingman and César Morales.

Prince Siegfried is out hunting when he discovers a flock of swans. When one of them turns into the beautiful princess Odette, Siegfried is smitten – but Odette explains that she’s under a spell cast by the evil Rothbart, keeping her in swan form from dawn to dusk.

"A talented rendition of a timeless tale. The stunning performances from the Birmingham Royal Ballet company tell the magical story of Swan Lake, which is still one of the most loved ballets in the world today. The show is beautiful and a must see for everyone even if you think “ballet is not my thing.” This being my first time at the ballet, it definitely set a high bar and I would recommend this to everyone "
